What are resident’s sentiments around gun policy?
In this segment, the skill of police comes into question. Are police trained in the necessary skillset to stop this culture of violence? “It takes an expertise of insight to fight what is a cultural norm.” say Alia Harvey-Quinn, executive director of Force Detroit. “The people are the subject matter experts and they are who should be resourced to do this work.”
Learn about the LIVE FREE Detroit Coalition, a team who is doing just that. The Live Free Coalition is comprised of directly impacted, grassroots, intersectional efforts led by people who are at the heart of the hurt.
